Well I have a couple thousand rounds through my Nelson/Springfield. Everything in 22LR has been through it. It just keeps running. I am a clean pistol freak so I clean after every range session. I have not seen any wear on my buffer. It has to be protecting the slide and barrel assembly.
I don't know if these buffers wear out but I know they launch pretty far. The one in my pistol took off today when I was reassembling it. NASA called and said it made it to a low orbit. I just ordered a few more of these. That will guarantee I do not loose anymore!
