Conversion: Standard Barrel / Lockback / Steel Scope Rail

Built this for rimfire steel challenge on a double stack frame with Vortex Viper RD. Everyone who's shot it, wants one. Likes Fed Auto Match.

The single most accurate firearm I've ever owned. With "target" ammo it is capable of one-hole accuracy at 25 yards. Got all three springs, but none work with 1200 fps ammo. Will stay with Target ammo.

I received my conversion early last year. Expected it to be a bit finicky as I had heard the Marvels were. Pleasantly surprised, put it on a backup wad gun frame and proceeded to shoot and shoot, etc. Had my first FTF at about 6K rounds, I found I had gotten so use to it working that I failed to see all the crud buildup in the magazines (DUH). After cleaning the conversion went back to 100% function. Used CCI paper box, but it is 100% with Eley Target and SK Standard Plus. Accuracy is on par with my other 22's, Bully barreled 41 and 208S.

Got mine in today. I plan to put it on a dedicated lower in the future but in the mean time I will run it on my hardball gun frame. Fit and finish is very good. The conversion fit right on to my well used springfield frame without any undo slop once the guide rod is tightened down. I shot about 20 rnds or so in total. 10 to zero and 10 for score. This is a very accurate conversion, one handed with a dot sight at 25 yards, 8 shots were clustered very tightly together. Approximately half the width and about as tall as the xring (NRA 25yd bullseye target 1.6" xring). All 20 shots fed and ejected perfectly and the slide locked open after every last shot. My only complaint is that the magazines feel kind of cheap. But as I mentioned I didn't have any feeding issues, and that is usually where .22's have problems at. I won't count the magazines against the overall score since they do seem to work perfectly fine right out of the box, and if there were going to be problems, it would have been right out of the box. On the plus side, the magazine are in fact cheap in price and available, unlike the Marvels. For all practical purposes, this is a Marvel kit that has all of the improvements for about 200 less than a top tier Marvel kit. I'm not knocking Marvel (the Nelson's are designed by Bob Marvel) but the cost difference and the quality cannot be matched plus I got mine a week after ordering. I don't think you can go wrong with this kit. As a side not, the ammunition I was using was CCI standard velocity and the factory installed spring was used. My hardball frame is also set up with an extra power mainspring for heavy hardball loads. No malfunctions. I did notice that for my particular gun that there was some grittiness in the trigger pull after installing the kit. This was a simple fix, I simply polished the disconnecter slot on the Nelson itself. I don't find that to be a major factor in this review because that may be different from gun to gun depending on how the trigger guts are configured. 5 stars. This is a fine product.
